2012 Season

December 2011

We did not have much of a year last season as we spent the season recovering from our last trip to Phoenix and elected to sit out the season.

We have Liquid Quiker back together have 3 motors ready to go and all but one cylinder head ready to go and that head is with RWR. Lots of spare parts have been purchased and a few other upgrades are in the progress to make the deal run quicker to keep up with the competition.

The truck has been upgraded with a shower, toilet, a new paint job and APU unit. The trailer has been repaired and painted and will be back at the shop in a week or two and we’ll put it back together on the inside.

I have to thank Freightliner of Knoxville and their body shop manager Randy Ogle for his patience and quality work.

What we have started doing is putting the black Ellison outrigger together, and I assume you all know that B & R Racing and Bob Genther bought the outrigger mold, we control the destiny of that boat which we believe is the safest boat in the country. They don’t do wheel stands and flip over at the start line.

I’ve decided to name the black boat “Shock Wave” and use Ron McLellan’s 028 boat number on it. If all goes well and I can come up with a capsule you’ll see that boat this year and we’ll see if it performs as well as the white boat. I’m going to bring Dan Ellison to the shop to make sure I get the struts on correctly and we’ll see what happens from there.

Mike Robbins is going to modify his trailer to haul the boat and if we can get him out of North Carolina once in a while we might get this done. We will have the same crew and intend to add Scottie Stone and Mark Montgomery to the roster.

I’m still fuming at Lucas Oil from the last trip to Phoenix and I’ll stick with my position of not returning to Phoenix until they make the deal right.

Money still continues to be our biggest obstacle and we could not agree on a deal with “General Tire” so we’ll continue on by ourselves and run what we can afford.

We hope to continue our relationships with “Clevite” engine parts, “Manton” push rods, “Victory Valves”, :Firehouse Subs”, “QRS Racing Products”, “ Horizon Boat Repair”, “Holbrook’s Performance Products” and of course “RWR Motorsports” we would not be racing if we did not have his parts and expertise.

We’ll figure out what we’ll run after the first of the year and let everyone know.

The adventure is not over yet

God bless Ron, he still tears me up.
