It didn’t seem right to call this the Ron & Bob Show so I guess from now on it will just be “The Adventures”. Did a lot of sole searching about what to do after Ron’s passing but the crew and wife wants to continue plus Ron’s daughter Nikki, his sister Sandra, and his better half Dawn all wanted to see Liquid Quiker continue so here we go again. We brought most of the boy’s to the shop a couple of week’s ago to run the motors and finish up everything I did not get done over the winter with the late start. I thought we were ready to go to Phoenix last November but Steve Trew and I worked all winter and I spent the usual ton of money so we’ll start in Oklahoma. Roger Sperry, our web-master has been working hard all winter designing and building our new website. He even made the 6 hour trip up from Augusta to get together with the guys, meet Mike, and check out the boat computer system. Roger and his wife Rita have agreed to make a few races with us and we are delighted to have them back as part of the team. Roger Way moved into his role, seems to be a lot more about work and a whole lot less about beer but with good results. Mike Robbins finally got a chance to get in the seat and start the motor after the new seat was installed. He was pretty comfortable and is certainly ready to drive the deal, a little quick on the Mag button but that is the alcohol boat in him. When he got in the first time, we all gave him more instructions than anyone could absorb but he took it all in stride, in the end he ignored us, and did a good job. We did manage to chew up a blower in about 10 seconds but everyone felt real good after we burned up some nitro. I think we all are anxious to get to Oklahoma in June and get that deal down the track. We will run Augusta, High Point and the Worlds Finals for sure; anything else will depend on the cash flow. We’ll see ya all at the track.Click here for photos |
